Few people are fortunate enough to create a lasting relationship with their first love. Tommy Owens has succeeded in bringing together several of his loves, which he graciously shares with everyone who walks through the doors of his restaurants.

Hawai’i, Tommy’s first love, plays a prominent role in each of his establishments. From the Pacific Rim menu to the tropical décor, Tommy strives to create an island experience that relaxes and nourishes. In Hawaii, to “live Aloha” is to act with courtesy and caring so the world we treasure will thrive and endure — a value that is omnipresent in Tommy’s restaurants.

Another of his loves, Tommy’s wife Muriel introduced him to the restaurant business nearly 25 years ago when she was cooking with five-star chefs in Tahoe. Thinking it might  be fun to have their own restaurant someday, Tommy went through the Chart House manager’s program, ultimately committing 12 years of his career to opening and running some of their most prominent locations.

After completing his corporate restaurant management career with the Chart House here in Vancouver, Tommy developed his vision of a Vancouver restaurant that serving top-quality, enticing, island-inspired food in a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Thus, Tommy O’s Aloha Café was born at the Vancouver Marketplace. Since then, Tommy has expanded his first restaurant from a popular lunch café to a full-service dining destination with a loyal following of local and out-of-town fans.

Tommy O’s Pacific Rim Bistro, in downtown Vancouver, has since lead to the genesis of a second excellent dining destination in East Vancouver. Tommy O’s Pacific Rim Grill opened in December of 2008 and is the culmination of Tommy O’s high-class, no-pressure experience.

Sure, Tommy has served his share of celebrities over the years, including Willie Nelson, George Forman, Christie Brinkley and the entire Denver Broncos and 49er’s football teams, but today it’s you he looks most forward to serving at his Pacific Rim Restaurants.
